Corsx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid Review

It has been a while since I tried a life changing skincare product, so I feel compelled to write my own 2 cents about my experience on using the Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid as my choice of everyday chemical exfoliant.

Allow me to explain a backstory of my journey/struggle/battle to get rid of my textured nose. Okay, in realness, the texture is solely caused by the abundance of white head habituating my nose. My only attempt to remove them prior using a chemical exfoliant is just using a facial scrub and scrub the heck out of my nose whenever I shower. Every time I’m done showering, my nose feels super smooth, but not for long because those stubborn whiteheads come back in an instant.

So I figure I ought to find a better long term solution for this. I can’t for the life of me remember how I stumbled upon a glowing review of this product. But I do remember that I immediately placed an order after reading said review. I just can’t wait to try if it works.

My bottle was purchased from iHerb.com. I believe it’s the most affordable option to buy from if you live in The Netherlands. There are other web-shops you can buy Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid from that will guarantee next day arrival but I wasn’t about to pay 5 euros extra.

I believe on the packaging it’s advised to build up some sort of resistance, so you start with one application every 2-3 days until your skin can take daily application. But I’m nothing but a rebel so from the very beginning I adjusted myself with the once a day application. I do this in the morning after I wash my face with a mild cleanser.

The way I apply this is either I pump a couple of pumps immediately on my hands and just massage the product on my skin or use a cotton round. I switch around between these two application methods because for some reason I get bored for sticking with one hahaha.

So it has been about three weeks since I religiously use the product and I have noticed major improvements. My skin has stayed smooth which allows my makeup to apply better and look better. Although I still avoid putting any kind of makeup on top of my nose out of habit, but the texture has improved significantly. My whiteheads are no longer poppin’.

What I also love about this is how moisturized my skin feels after application. I now remember that I have had a bottle of Clinique exfoliating toner prior using this and although the Clinique one didn’t necessarily make my skin uber dry, it’s not moisturizing either. Unlike the Cosrx one.

So yea, I think I will stick with this bottle and I’ll report back when I’m nearing the end of my bottle.

Current Skincare Menu: AM

Since now my skincare game is coming back stronger than ever, I’d like to share my routine. More so as my own documentation than other reasons but I hope for those of you who stumbled upon this post can be mildly entertaining to read.

I hate morning cleanse. Because I do it on the sink. The feeling when water runs down my arms is quite unpleasant to me. Especially when the water starts to drip from my elbow to the floor. Can we not? But I do it anyway because I love using my Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser. The scent is addictive. I’m on my third bottle of this tuff. Unfortunately I don’t have a backup ready cuz I forgot to add this cleanser into my order via my friend. So no more of this after this bottle. Which is fine I guess. I probably will try the Cosrx Low pH Good Morning Cleanser once I’m done with this.

Then I do my BHA exfoliating step with Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid. My nose has some serious clogging issues. I have sworn off putting anything on my nose because of this. But now after a few weeks of everyday use my nose has cleared up and it’s so much smoother than prior using this.

After waiting for about 10-20 minutes (depending on how much time I have) I tap tap tap some of my SK-II Facial Treatment Essence on my face with my bare hands. On the contrary of the cleanser, this essence has the most repulsing scent ever (exaggeration, I bet there are more vile smelling products than this). But I do find myself not liking how my skin look if I stop using this regularly. My skin emanates a more radiant healthy glow when I’m being diligent with this. I’m halfway of the biggest pump bottle already. It’s crazy how expensive this stuff is.

Once the first essence is tapped dried, now it’s time for second essence which I use as my moisturizer. It’s Cosrx Advance Snail 96 Mucin Essence. Two pumps of this is enough for my moisturizing need. Since this is so much thinner for my usual cream moisturizer I feel like this is the perfect way to inject some moisture in the hot weather. Honestly though how many time can I say moisture in one post?

As in for the eye department I’m still working with Origins Ginzing Eye Cream. It’s moisturizing enough for in the morning. I like to use eye cream to make my concealer blend smoother. Also the iridescent pearls in the cream kind of brighten my dark under eye areas. That’s like my biggest skin problem. I don’t think this eye cream actually lighten my under eyes, it just makes them look/appear brighter. Am I even making sense to you?

And the last step is to apply sunscreen. SUNSCREEN IS IMPORTANT! So I apply this every single day with no fail. Currently I’m on my second bottle of Clarins Ecran Multi Protection sunscreen. Really like how thin the texture is but since it’s physical sunscreen, I do have to wait a while for the white cast to dissipate. But I’m not playing with my sun protection, I mean business when it comes to this.

So there you go, my current step by step of my AM skincare. Was gonna put up my photo to show my current skin condition but naaah, I look gross today hahaha.

Current Makeup Menu

Hello! Long time no makeup talk. I have been enjoying having my makeup done (by myself) every morning. This newfound love is due to me recently redecorated our extra bedroom which we use for storing our clothes and getting ready. I also recently bought several new beauty products to mostly replenish products that I finished as well as to rebuild my routine. For the past year I have been only using cleanser and moisturizer (ok, plus my SK-II FTE because I can’t live without that shiz) most of the time. So when I have these new products I just want to slap them on my face all day long.

For this post I’m going to just focus on the makeup because as much as I like skincare products, I enjoy playing around with makeup more. Instant result, instant gratification. You feel me?

There is nothing new in terms of the vibe of makeup that I’m going for most of the days. Although new products have been incorporated, I’m still an advocate of that no-makeup-makeup-look. Basically just enhancing what I have instead of trying to fake what I don’t have.

For base I’m going super minimal but not really hahaha. Minimal as in I only use concealer for concealing purposes but I do have a plethora of products to choose from. So I usually rotate this around my NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer, Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer, KIKO Skin Tone Concealer, or MAC Prolong Wear Concealer. As if I don’t have enough already I’m actually waiting for my friend to be back from Canada with my Glossier order which includes their Stretch Concealer. To me concealer mostly is used for my under eyes rather than anything else. I have pretty dark under eyes which makes me look extremely tired. I kind of chose my glasses frame to kind of cover this problem.

I don’t have a set of rules or steps in terms of makeup application. Some days I go for brows after but some I go for bronzer. A few weeks ago I bought a pot of RMS Buriti Bronzer and I have been wearing that every single day. There’s a significant dip already in the pot. Granted it’s a very sheer bronzer so I go H.A.M. usually with it. But trust me this thing is summer in a pot. I put some on my nose bridge when I’m not wearing glasses to give the sun-kissed effect.

Following up, I usually do blush and highlighter after. For blush I also use one of RMS Lip2Cheek in the shade Illusive. This color is also great for on the lips. It translates to a dusky rose MLBB shade on my lips. As for highlighter I’m still working my way down of my Benefit Watts Up Highlighter. I’ve always thought that I need to buy RMS Living Luminizer but I don’t think I can justify having two cream highlighter when finishing one can take me a decade hahahaha.

For now I’m not loyal to anything in terms of brow products. I have my MAC Concrete Eyeshadow to fill in my brows but sometimes I want to just use a pencil instead but I don’t have any at the moment. Honestly the only thing that makes me a bit hesitant to use powder eyeshadow is it takes me extra seconds to find my short Anastasia brow brush in a jar of tall brushes hahahaha #firstworldproblemamiright. But I always always always finish with a brow gel. I really like my NYX brow gel in Brunette despite its mascara sized brush in the world of teeny weeny eyebrow brushes. But no fear, my Glossier Boy Brow is en route to me.

And then… I’m actually done hahahaha. I don’t really wear eyeshadow on the daily nor mascara. Although I do love my Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara but I don’t like removing them by the end of the day. So I just forego them. I’m quite happy with the result of all those products above because they help me achieve my no-makeup-makeup-look. Because my main reason of wearing makeup is more of the application process than making me like a billion dollar baby hahahaha.

My Current Cleansers Rotation

IMG_3138

For some reason, I always always always have a lot of different facial cleansers in my arsenal. I don’t know how and I don’t know why. Maybe when I’m not looking they just decided to proliferate or something. I swear I didn’t plan on having this many! Ideally one is enough ya know. Currently I have…

Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser

My favorite out of the four that I currently have. It’s very gentle, doesn’t sting my eyes, doesn’t leave a film after I wash it off, and just very very very pleasant to use. The scent is also very easy on my nose. I’m on my 2nd and 3rd bottle. One in the shower and one one the sink and both are halfway gone. Not sure if I’m going to rebuy anytime soon though since there’s no easy way to get it here in Holland but if I had the chance, I will.

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap

I have a massive bottle of this in the shower right now. Also halfway done and I’m considering using it as a body wash instead hahaha. This is not saying I don’t like it, it’s just so bland. It works for post cleansing oil/balm or AM facial wash but yea… nothing spectacular. No scent, no frills. Idk why I bought the big bottle, value pack always excites me.

The Face Shop Rice Water Bright, Light Cleansing Oil

For a while I didn’t have any kind of cleansing oil/balm. My last one was probably Clinique Take the Day off or The Body Shop Chamomile cleansing oil. And I quite miss having something slippy to take my make up off. There really no good reason why I chose The Face Shop, it’s just come to my attention by beauty bloggers so I decided to give it a whirl. And the verdict is, I don’t like it. Don’t think it removes my makeup enough, it stings my eyes, and the texture is quite dry for a cleansing oil. Don’t ask me how an oil can be dry because I have no clue. All I know is I don’t like it. But I’ll use it up anyway. Maybe as body wash? Hahahahaha.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

This one is a travel size bottle. Do we count this as one or half? I bought Cetaphil in the travel size due to two reasons, one I want to try it but kinda know that I will like the Glossier version better and two is to reuse the bottle to fill with Milky Jelly cleanser once I empty it out. So far, I have only used it three times. Once to try and the last two is when I travel. Everything but the smell is similar to Glossier Milky Jelly cleanser. So if I had to choose, I’d go for Milky Jelly. Oh also this one stings my eyes. Not sure if I have overly sensitive eyes because everything seems to sting my eyes. But I once slept with contacts on and was fine the next day. So I’m guessing don’t blame my eyes.
